Teriprexin is primarily used clinically for the following conditions:
Esophageal and gastric variceal bleeding
This is the most common application, frequently seen in patients with cirrhosis. Teriprexin can rapidly stop bleeding and reduce the risk of rebleeding.
Hepatorenal syndrome
Especially type 1 hepatorenal syndrome (rapidly progressive), teriprexin combined with albumin therapy shows good efficacy.
Other uses (research or special cases)
Refractory ascites
Some shock conditions (in research phase)
Cirrhosis is the underlying disease for these indications, therefore teriprexin holds a very important position in the field of liver disease.
